‘The Bridal Edit’
After more than 20 years photographing bridal fashion for magazines and commercial clients, I bring an editorial eye to contemporary weddings.
For many years, while photographing bridal fashion for magazines, I was asked to photograph weddings. I always declined. At the time, wedding photography felt too formulaic and distant from the kind of visual storytelling I wanted to make.
Weddings have changed, and so has my perspective. I’m now offering a more considered approach, combining the editorial language of bridal fashion with the observation, patience and emotional truth of documentary filmmaking.
I notice the details: the movement of a dress, the quality of light, the atmosphere of a room and the connections between people. My approach combines carefully considered portraits with observation, creating editorial images that feel elegant, natural and emotionally true.
A wedding is not a fashion shoot. It is a living story. I’ll offer direction when it helps, step back when the moment matters and work unobtrusively throughout the day. The aim is not to impose a formula, but to create photographs and films that reflect you and your groom, your relationships and the atmosphere you created.
Alongside stills, I also offer documentary wedding films, using the same editorial eye and thoughtful, unobtrusive approach. Each commission is dedicated to one medium - photography or film - so the work receives my full attention from the first frame to the final edit.
Based in Surrey, shooting worldwide, I’m available for a limited number of commissions each year.
